Aboriginal Dreamtime Travel Guide

A guide to experiencing and learning about aboriginal life and culture in Australia

The information presented here is based on my travels in Australia.

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the aboriginal people in Australia, but did not know where to start? I'd to like share my experience with you and provide you with knowledge I have learned about the Aborigines.

This website provides you with information about places, where you can find out more about the Aborigines and their culture, one of the oldest cultures on earth.

I started travelling as any other tourist, visiting one attraction after the other, like I have done in many countries before.

Soon I realised that this did not satisfy me any more, simply because being in Australia for a whole year is something completely different than just making holidays for a couple of weeks. A year is a very long time.

I started to learn more about the indigenous culture in Australia and got totally fascinated about these people, their spirituality and about their strong connection to the land.

The Aborigines have been living in Australia for over 40.000 years without much interference from outside except for the last 300 years. There is even some evidence in the Mungo National Park that they may have been living in Australia for 60.000 years. In all that time they have developed a culture which is unique on Earth and a deep connection to the land.

As I keep learning about them, I gain a greater understanding and respect for them, their way of life and their spirituality, which inspires me to discover more and more about them. Let the knowledge and the wisdom of the Elders inspire you, too.

Ready? Let's begin where I have started to learn about their culture, on an Aboriginal Walkabout in the Blue Mountains.
