The current time in Australia
Choose the location in Australia and I can tell you what time it is
The current time in Australia can be a funny thing. Australia is so big that it has three different time zones. Actually there are five times for half a year, because West Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland do not observe Daylight Saving Time.
In these six month you will have to adjust your clock whenever you cross a state border, except when you are traveling from South Australia to Broken Hill or to Queensland and vice versa.
Broken Hill is a funny exception, because it uses the time of South Australia, but is located in New South Wales. Do not ask why! A local told me it is because Broken Hill gets electricity and water from South Australia.
Another exception is the area around Eucla at the border between West Australia and South Australia which has a different time than West Australia and South Australia. The time is one hour behind South Australia. But do not bother about that, because you will probably not be there long enough to even notice that, and it is an unofficial time zone anyway.
So the current time in Australia totally depends where you are in Australia. Below are the times of the major cities in Australia.
